{"id":2305,"date":"2013-06-18T21:20:53","date_gmt":"2013-06-19T01:20:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nhvweb.net\/?p=2305"},"modified":"2013-06-19T20:16:05","modified_gmt":"2013-06-20T00:16:05","slug":"new-principal-for-north-hunterdon-high-school","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nhvweb.net\/index.php\/2013\/06\/new-principal-for-north-hunterdon-high-school\/","title":{"rendered":"New Principal for North Hunterdon High School"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At its June 18<sup>th<\/sup> meeting, the North Hunterdon-Voorhees Regional High School District Board of Education approved Richard Bergacs, Ed.D., to be the new Principal of North Hunterdon High School effective July 1, 2013.\u00a0 Dr. Bergacs is currently the Assistant Principal for Student Affairs and Operations of North Hunterdon High School.\u00a0 He will succeed Michael Hughes, who was recently hired to be the district\u2019s new Assistant Superintendent.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am deeply honored to be chosen as the new Principal for North Hunterdon High School, which is one of the finest schools in the country.\u00a0 The school has an amazing faculty and I am impressed on a daily basis with the accomplishments of our students.\u00a0 The energy that surrounds the students, staff, parents and community at North Hunterdon is inspiring and I am excited to work with all of them in my new role,\u201d said Bergacs.\u00a0 <!--more--><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhvweb.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/Rich-Bergacs-at-lion.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-2306\" alt=\"Rich Bergacs at lion\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nhvweb.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/Rich-Bergacs-at-lion-300x264.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"264\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.nhvweb.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/Rich-Bergacs-at-lion-300x264.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.nhvweb.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/Rich-Bergacs-at-lion-1024x901.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Dr. Bergacs was chosen from 15 internal and external candidates who applied for and were qualified for the position of Principal.\u00a0 A screening committee reduced the number of candidates to five, who were then interviewed by a separate committee consisting of parents, students, supervisors, teachers, and the Assistant Superintendent.\u00a0 After meeting with the candidates, the interview committee recommended two candidates to Dr. Charles M. Shaddow, Superintendent of Schools.\u00a0 In the end, Dr. Richard Bergacs was Shaddow\u2019s choice for the position.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDr. Bergacs truly has an impressive list of accomplishments since joining the district in 1999. As Director of Technology, he brought us to the forefront of the use of technology in the state.\u00a0 As Assistant Principal of North Hunterdon, he has involved himself in every aspect of administrating a high achieving high school.\u00a0 He is ready for this next challenge,\u201d said Shaddow.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to becoming Assistant Principal at North Hunterdon High School in March 2011, Dr. Bergacs was the high school district\u2019s Director of Technology for 12 years.\u00a0 He is credited with establishing a web presence for the district with the creation of the district and high school websites and email system.\u00a0 Dr. Bergacs was an Adjunct Professor at The College of New Jersey for eight years where he implemented a course on Network Technology for the Master degree students in the Educational Technology department.\u00a0 He was an Applied Technology Teacher at Stillwater Township School from 1994 to 1999.
