The Board of Education of the North Hunterdon-Voorhees Regional High School District in the County
of Hunterdon, New Jersey hereby advertises for request for filling of a Board Member Vacancy in
accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:12-15(f). A member so appointed shall represent Califon Borough and
Tewksbury Township and serve until December 31, 2026.
Vacancy Applicants must be a resident of Califon Borough or Tewksbury Township. Interested applicants
shall submit a Letter of Interest and Resume (including applicant\u2019s full name, address, cell number) via
email to the Board Secretary at kblew@nhvweb.net on or before TUESDAY, DECEMBER 23, 2025 at
4:00 p.m.
The legal requirements to become a school board member:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  1. Each member of any board of education shall, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:12-1:
    a. Be a United States citizen;
    b. Be a resident of the district for at least one year at the time of election or appointment;
    c. Be able to read and write;
    d. Be a registered voter in the district where the person is submitting the nominating
    petition;
    e. Not be \u201cdisqualified\u201d as a voter pursuant to N.J.S.A. 19:4-1
    f. Has not been convicted of any of the crimes or offenses enumerated in N.J.S.A. 18A:12-1
    or conspiracy to commit or attempt to commit any of said crimes;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Board of Education members may not, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:12-2 and 12-3;
    a. Be the mayor or a member of the governing body of the municipality or, in the case of
    special services or vocational schools, the county, shall they hold office as a member of
    the governing body of a county;
    b. Have a direct, or indirect, contract with or claim against the board.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Additionally, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:12-3, if a board member ceases to be a resident of the district,
    their membership on the board shall immediately cease.
