In attempting to prepare students for American society and to define the needs of each citizen of our society, the Board of Education has established the following graduation requirements:
\nI. Successful completion of 120 credits including the following:
\nENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS LITERACY \u2013 20 credits
\n(English I, English II, English III and English IV are required.)<\/p>\n

FINANCIAL LITERACY \u2013 2.5 credits<\/p>\n

PHYSICAL EDUCATION, HEALTH and SAFETY \u2013 20 credits
\nAs required by New Jersey Administrative Code.<\/p>\n

MATHEMATICS \u2013 15 credits including algebra I and geometry or the content equivalent and a third year of math that builds on the concepts and skills of algebra and geometry and prepares students for college and 21st century careers.<\/p>\n

SOCIAL STUDIES \u2013 15 credits (Early American History, Modern American History, World History)
\nSCIENCE \u2013 15 credits, 5 credits in each Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
\nFINE ARTS (ART, MUSIC) \u2013 5 credits total
\nPRACTICAL ARTS (BUSINESS, FAMILY & CONSUMER SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION) \u2013 5 credits total
\nWORLD LANGUAGES \u2013 5 credits required. Although the district requirement is one year, it is highly recommended that students study their chosen language for at least three consecutive years in order to gain a global appreciation and to present more competitively when applying to colleges and universities.<\/p>\n
