{"id":358,"date":"2014-12-23T09:30:15","date_gmt":"2014-12-23T13:30:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nhvweb.net\/giftedandtal\/?page_id=358"},"modified":"2017-03-08T12:29:08","modified_gmt":"2017-03-08T16:29:08","slug":"local-scholarship-north","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.nhvweb.net\/collegeandcareer\/scholarships\/local-scholarship-north\/","title":{"rendered":"North Hunterdon Local Scholarships"},"content":{"rendered":"<hr \/>\n<p><strong>How to Apply for Local Scholarships<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Read through the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1EkxbAm4DgYmETcTIqkTFI2TAo4oM9z1sxMO0ctAwUSY\/edit?usp=sharing\">North Hunterdon Local Scholarship List<\/a>, paying particular attention to the following sections:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Description of the Scholarship-<\/strong> Review each scholarship&#8217;s description to see which ones you are eligible for.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Additional Requirements-<\/strong> You must include all requested additional requirements (transcript, essay, letter of recommendation, etc.) for the application to be complete.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Type of Criteria-<\/strong> You must complete all financial information for any scholarship that lists \u201cneed\u201d as one of the criteria.\u00a0 For non-need-based scholarships, it is recommended that you still complete this information, but it is not required.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Application form to be Used- <\/strong>for applications that say <u>NHHS Local Scholarship Application<\/u> you should use the 2017 North Hunterdon Local Scholarship Application.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Application form to be Used-<\/strong> for applications that use a \u201c<u>private application<\/u>\u201d please use their specific application.\u00a0 The list of private applications can be found at the bottom of this page.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li>Several scholarships list a <strong>Due Date<\/strong>. These scholarships must be returned to the <u>sponsoring organization<\/u> by the due date.\u00a0 All other applications must be turned in to Ms. Gorton by <strong>February 24<sup>th<\/sup>, 2017<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li>Any scholarship that is turned in to Ms. Gorton must be paper-clipped (no staples) and have a completed <u>2017 Local Scholarship Checklist<\/u> as the first page of the application.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li>Please schedule a meeting with Ms. Gorton before February 24<sup>th<\/sup> if you have any questions about an application or would like her to look over your completed applications before you submit them. The earlier you schedule a meeting the better since there will be many other students doing the same thing and time slots will quickly fill up.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li>Ms. Gorton is at North every Tuesday, Thursday, and alternating Fridays.
