American Legion Boys State The 2017 deadline has now passed, check back in March 2018 for updated information
What is this?: This is a leadership conference for boys interested in learning more about the infrastructure of how government is built and its functions. One male who best meets the following criteria will be selected to attend this paid for conference that will be June 18 – 23 at Rider University.
Criteria: You must be able to attend the entire leadership conference. You must be willing to actively engage and participate in learning and building a mock form of government. You must demonstrate strong academics, extracurricular activities, and community service.

What is this?: This is a leadership conference for girls interested in learning more about the infrastructure of how government is built and its functions. What is this?: This is a recognition award. One student from each high school will be selected as a nominee for this award.
Criteria: Award will be given to an outstanding high school junior with a 4.0 GPA who demonstrates a commitment to civic engagement, community service, political activism, social justice, or volunteer work.

What is this?: This is a recognition award. One female student from each high school will be selected as a nominee for this award.
Criteria: Applicants must exhibit an intense intellectual commitment, have a self-directed and purposeful vision of her life, and have a desire to make a meaningful contribution to the world.

Chatham University Rachel Carson Book Award The 2017 deadline has now passed, check back in March 2018 for updated information
What is this?: To honor the legacy of Rachel Carson ’29, Chatham began the Rachel Carson Book Award program in 1990. Recognizing young women with an interest in the sciences and environmental studies, the program currently offers a renewable $1,000 scholarship to full-time undergraduate students at Chatham. To be eligible for renewal, students must maintain full-time enrollment status and a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0
Criteria: You must be a female student who demonstrates academic strength, interest in environmental issues, extracurricular involvements with environmental issues, and interests in science.

Clarkson University Leadership & Achievement Awards Program Deadline Extended: April 11, 2017
What is this?: These are two recognition awards in which two students from each high school will be selected as the top nominees for consideration. The Clarkson University Leadership Award holds a scholarship value of $60,000 ($15,000 per year for four years) and the Clarkson University Achievement Award holds a scholarship value of $48,000 ($12,000 per year for four years), upon acceptance, enrolling, and attending Clarkson University.
Criteria: You must demonstrate outstanding leadership within extracurricular activities and community service, have an academic interest in: engineering, business, science, or liberal arts; be a positive contributor to your school and community, and achieve an academic class rank in the top 15%.

Clinton Rotary Youth Leadership Award The 2017 deadline has now passed, check back in March 2018 for updated information
What is this?: This is a leadership conference. One student from each high school who best meets the following criteria will be selected to attend this conference, paid for by the Clinton Rotary. The conference will take place June 16 – 18 at Drew University. For more information please click here.

Elmira College Key Award Deadline Extended: April 11, 2017
What is this?: This is a recognition award in which one male and one female student from each high school will be selected as the top nominees for consideration. This award holds a scholarship value of $80,000 ($25,000 per year for four years) upon acceptance, enrolling, and attending at Elmira College.
Criteria: You must have a minimum grade average of 90 (3.5 GPA), demonstrate extracurricular activities, community service, and leadership involvement in these areas.

The Furman Scholars Scholarship Program Deadline: April 11, 2017
What is this?: This is a recognition award in which one student from each high school will be selected as the top nominee for consideration. This award holds a scholarship value of at least $7,500 per year (up to $30,000 over 4 years) upon acceptance, enrolling, and attending Furman.
Criteria: You must demonstrate a genuine interest in an education in the liberal arts and sciences, significant involvement in extra-curricular activities and community service, and leadership potential. Furman Scholars must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher and at least a 1250 on the SAT or PSAT (reading and math), or a 28 on the ACT or Aspire (excluding writing).

Lawrence Tech. University Award for Excellence in Science & Math Deadline: April 11, 2017
What is this?: This is a recognition award in which one student from each high school will be selected as the top nominee for consideration. This award holds a scholarship value of $8,000 ($2,000 per year) upon acceptance, enrolling, and attending Lawrence Technological University.
Criteria: You must demonstrate an academic interest in Engineering, Architecture, Arts & Sciences, or Management; have an ACT composite score of 22 or higher or an SAT score (math and critical reading) of 1050 or higher. You must also have completed at least one year of chemistry or physics, plus at least two years of college prep level math courses by June 2016. Finally, you must be an active and responsible citizen of school and community.

What is this?: The Randolph College Book Award is given to a high school junior from your school who is academically strong and who is a leader outside of the classroom. This award holds a potential merit scholarship value of $5,000 per year upon acceptance, enrolling, and attending Randolph College.
Criteria: You must demonstrate strong academics and leadership ability.

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute: The Rensselaer Medal Deadline: April 11, 2017
What is this?: This is a recognition award in which one student from each high school will be selected as the top nominee for consideration. This award holds a potential merit scholarship value of $25,000 per year upon acceptance, enrolling, and attending Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Criteria: You must be in the top 10% of your class, demonstrate exceptional academics, extracurricular activities/community service, and strong SAT scores. You must excel in advanced math and science courses and must be on track to taking 4 years of math, including pre-calculus, by the end of your senior year.

Rochester Institute of Technology: Computing Medal & Scholarship Program Deadline Extended: April 11, 2017
What is this?: The Computing Medal and Scholarship Program recognizes high school juniors who have distinguished themselves academically, are active and involved members of their school and community, and demonstrate interest and ability in computing. One female and one male student from each high school will be selected as the top nominees for consideration. This award holds a potential merit scholarship value of $7,000 per year for four years upon acceptance, enrolling, and attending RIT. The admissions fee will be waived as well.
Criteria: To be considered for nomination you must be pursuing a rigorous college-preparatory curriculum, rank in the top 10% of your junior class, be involved as a leader in your school and/or community, and demonstrate an interest and ability in computing. Applicants should also have strong grades in computing related classes, and high level usage of computing.

Rochester Institute of Technology: Innovation & Creativity Award Program Deadline Extended: April 11, 2017 (Voorhees Only)
What is this?: The Innovation and Creativity Award Program recognizes high school juniors who have distinguished themselves academically, are active and involved member of their school and community, and demonstrate outstanding achievement in innovation, creativity, or entrepreneurship. One female and one male student from each high school will be selected as the top nominees for consideration. This award holds a merit scholarship value of $7,000 per year for four years upon acceptance, enrolling, and attending RIT. The admissions fee will be waived as well.
Criteria: To be considered for nomination you must be pursuing a rigorous college-preparatory curriculum, rank in the top 10% of your junior class, be involved as a leader in your school and/or community, and demonstrate strong interest and ability in innovation, creativity or entrepreneurship.

Sage Colleges Student Sage Award Deadline Extended: April 11, 2017
What is this?: The Student Sage Award is a recognition program that enables your school to honor two outstanding students. Recipients of the award will receive a certificate
of nomination and an invitation to The Sage Colleges Student Sage Scholars’ Reception during his/her senior year. Confirmed nominees will receive a scholarship of at least $5,000 per year to attend The Sage Colleges (Russell Sage College or Sage College of Albany).
Criteria: You must embody The Sage Colleges motto: “To Be, To Know, To Do”….
- “To Be” Candidates should be academic and social leaders

What is this?: This is a recognition award in which one student from each high school will be selected as a nominee for this award.
Criteria: To be considered for the award, students must demonstrate academic success and exceptional leadership qualities in the area of civic engagement. The recipient should embody the values inherent in our Benedictine tradition and have aspirations for continued education.

Saint Michael’s College Book Award Deadline Extended: April 11, 2017
What is this?: This is a recognition award in which one male and one female student from each high school will be selected as the top nominee for consideration. This award winner will be eligible for scholarships to Saint Michael’s that will range from $5,000 to full tuition upon acceptance, enrolling, and attending this school.
Criteria: Students must attain mostly A’s and B’s in honors and AP classes and must be inductees of the National Honor Society or equivalent honors organization. Students must also show a sustained and sincere commitment to community service, issues of peace and justice and concern for others.

What is this?: This is a recognition award in which one female student from each high school will be selected as a nominee for this award.
Criteria: You must demonstrate academic strength especially in the areas of science and mathematics. You must demonstrate extracurricular activities, community service, and honors/awards you have received throughout high school.

Criteria: You must demonstrate high achievement and rigor in science classes, high PSAT Math and/or SAT Math scores, and positive contributions to your school and within the larger community.

Criteria: You must demonstrate strong leadership experience at school and in the community, high grades and challenging courses, and extensive involvement in extracurricular activities.

What is this?: This is a recognition award in which one student from each high school will be selected as the top nominee for consideration. This award holds a merit scholarship value of a minimum of $10,000 per year upon acceptance, enrolling, and attending the University of Rochester. The admissions fee will be waived as well.
Criteria: You must demonstrate strong interest in innovation and/or information technology and a high level of achievement in this area; exposure to new technologies outside of school, such as pursuing serious work opportunities in local laboratories or industry; and leading other students to new approaches to old problems, e.g. business plans for fundraising; innovative community service; after-school activities; and best uses of internal communications tools such as chat and blogs.

Criteria: Applicants must excel at a rigorous course of study that includes courses at the most advanced level (AP courses or their equivalent) in at least two of the following subject areas: humanities, social science, mathematics, or science; demonstrate independent thought and creative thinking consistent with the spirit of free and energetic inquiry encouraged by Wesleyan University; and show extracurricular achievement, school leadership, community involvement or commitment to the arts.
