Students will be watching the movie Simon Birch in class.  This movie has a plot that is similar to the plot of Freak the Mighty.  Students will write a brief essay in class comparing and contrasting the movie and the book.

Today students began a two-day lesson on Immigration.  Students completed a pros/cons chart where they recorded their feelings and opinions on Immigration.

Students began watching a video from the 30 Days series on Immigration.  There will be a brief writing exercise following the video where students will share their reaction to the movie.

Today students started presenting their projects for they completed for the fourth marking period quarterly assessment.  These presentations will take a few days and serve as a helpful review to prepare for the final!

Students finished reading The Tempest today in class.  The final test on the book is scheduled for Tuesday, May 29th.

Today students received a worksheet with important quotes from The Tempest.  They will need to know these quotes and who said them for Tuesday’s test.

Tomorrow is the last day to work on the project for the fourth marking period Quarterly Assessment.  The PowerPoint, handouts, and any additional information is due by the end of class on Wednesday.  The presentation portion of the Quarterly will begin on Thursday.

The Spanish Quarterly Assessment for the fourth marking period will take place tomorrow.  The test will focus on culture and geography from Central America and the Caribbean and Mexico.

Students should come prepared to class with a pencil and their notes.

The fourth marking period Quarterly Assessment is tomorrow.  Students were given a study guide for Freak The Mighty in class today, which was completed and reviewed as a class to prepare for the quarterly.

Tomorrow is the Quarterly Assessment for the fourth marking period in English.  Students can study the grammar/word choice notes that were discussed in class to prepare.
