610 – 5 credits – Concert Choir (non auditioned – 9th grade boys, 10th – 12th grade mixed)
Concert Choir is a large performance ensemble for students who enjoy singing. Students receive instruction in musicianship, choral skills, and performance skills. Choral music ranging from the classics to the contemporary is explored. At times the choir sings in Latin, German, French, Italian and other languages. There are many opportunities to perform.
611 – 5 credits – Freshmen Choir (non-auditioned – 9th grade girls)
Freshman Choir is a large performing ensemble for freshmen girls who enjoy singing. Students receive instruction in the basic elements of music. Musicianship, choral and performance skills are covered. Students explore vocal music from light classical to modern. An introduction will be given to proper diction in English and other languages.
615 – 2.5 credits – Madrigal Choir (auditioned – 10th – 12th grade women)
Madrigal Choir is a women’s chamber choir for serious music students. The repertoire will explore high quality women’s choir music of all genres. Madrigal choir meets on Mondays and Thursdays from 2:30 to 3:10.
616 – 2.5 credits – Show Choir (auditioned – 10th – 12th grade mixed)
Show choir is a small singing ensemble for serious music students. The repertoire will include advanced rhythms and harmony, music from musicals, and jazz/pop idiom. Show choir meets on Wednesdays and Fridays from 2:30 to 3:10.
