Preparation
Please bring the following to class every day:
· Three-ring binder
· Notebook or loose-leaf paper
· A bound journal which will stay in the classroom
· Writing utensils
· Current unit materials (books, assignments)
· Vocabulary book
Grading
Tests 50-200 pts
Projects 100-200 pts
Quizzes 10-50 pts
Homework 5-50 pts
Classwork 20-50 pts
Participation-up to 20% of the MP grade (attitude, behavior, preparedness, effort, etc)
Midterm and Final Exams are separate from marking period grades
Make-Up Work
When absent it is the student’s responsibility to get the work from the teacher
All make-up work must be done after school (2:30-3:10 Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday)
After one week an “absent” mark becomes a “0” grade if not made up
Late Assignments
A late homework assignment loses ˝ credit per day
A late essay loses 10 points per day
Essays will not be accepted beyond three days past the due date
A late project loses 20 points per day
Projects will not be accepted past two days late
Tardiness and Absence
Tardy=entering the room after the bell rings
Three tardy arrivals result in one absence
Twelve unexcused absences result in loss of credit for the course
Dress and Behavior
Respect those around you, yourself, and school property
Any inappropriate behavior will result in consequences
Students failing to dress appropriately will be asked to change, no hats or hoods allowed
Subsequent failures will result in detention and an essay assignment
Electronic Devices
Any inappropriate electronic device found/heard/used will be confiscated and given to the Disciplinarian
