Course Offerings

The TV/Video Production courses fulfill fine arts requirements.

Currently, we offer 4 courses to freshmen through seniors.  All are half year sections with the exception of Advanced TV Production, which is a full year course.

After completing TV/Video Production I & II, students may move on to either TV/Video III or Advanced TV Production.

TV/VIDEO PRODUCTION I

Credits: 2.5  Weeks: 18

Students familiarize themselves with the television studio and the video format. Movement, lighting, editing, and video techniques are emphasized through live action projects.

TV/VIDEO PRODUCTION II

Prerequisite: Students must complete Video Production I or be admitted by permission of instructor.

Students will continue to explore and experiment with the video medium through individual video projects. Special attention will now be given to the development of more involved live action video projects.

 

TV/VIDEO PRODUCTION III

Credits: 2.5  Weeks: 18

Prerequisite: Students must complete Video Production II or be admitted by permission of instructor.

Students will continue to explore and experiment with the video medium through individual and group projects.  It requires the operational mechanics of storyboarding, planning and filming, with emphasis placed on cinematography and story-telling through video.

 

ADVANCED TV PRODUCTION

Adv TV Production Grading & Policies

Credits: 5.0  Weeks: 36

Prerequisite: Students must complete  Video Production II or be admitted by permission of the instructor.  

Students will continue to explore and experiment with the television medium through teamwork in a professional setting. Students must work together to conceive, plan and execute a format for a television program to be broadcast on a regular basis (i.e. daily, weekly, bi-weekly). Special attention will now be given to story-telling and working in a professional television production studio.
