DISTRICT SAFETY AND SECURITY STATEMENT

Dear North Hunterdon-Voorhees Regional High School District Community:

Given the security concerns we all share, the North Hunterdon-Voorhees Regional High School District Board of Education wants to reaffirm its commitment to school safety for all students, parents, staff, volunteers and community members who use our facilities.

While no approach is 100 percent perfect, we have taken significant steps to minimize our risks and ensure that our students and staff can go about their day-to-day functions in as safe an environment as possible.  Our security planning includes:

·        A written Emergency Security Plan.

·        Established protocols with local law enforcement agencies.

·        A contract with StoneGate Associates, LLC for training and security procedures.

·        In-service training for all staff.

·        Communication with students regarding security procedures.

School safety is everyone’s concern and our ability to maintain a safe environment is dependent on relationships.  To that end, we encourage all residents to help us in looking out for each other.  That means if something comes to your attention that you believe warrants investigation, we encourage you to contact the Board of Education immediately by calling (908) 735 2846 or emailing us at cmshaddow@nhvweb.net.

We also appreciate you sharing any additional security suggestions with us and thank you for your ongoing support.

Sincerely,

Peter Marra, Esquire
