NH-V Strengthens Communication

Of Emergency Closing Procedures

 

            The North Hunterdon-Voorhees Regional High School District Board of Education has upgraded its ability to communicate emergency school closing procedures with the addition of Global CONNECT, a  “Strategic Voice Broadcasting” system, www.gc1.com

 The system is not for use regarding inclement weather notification.  It will only be activated if schools need to be closed due to an emergency that reaches the magnitude of a bomb threat, gas leak, detection of an intruder, etc.  The Global CONNECT system will send a broadcast voice message to student home and family daytime numbers as follows:

 

 

• The home phone number currently in our student database will be called if there is an unexpected event preventing school from opening.

 

• The home and family daytime/work phone numbers will be called in the event that a school closing is necessary after school has already begun.

 

• Additionally, we will continue our current practice of placing information on our web site, www.nhvweb.net, district office phone (735-2846), and radio and television stations.
