GREAT NEWS:

 

Congratulations to the North Hunterdon yearbook staff as the 2008 Regis Yearbook has been selected to receive the Herff Jones Showcase Award!  Congratulations to yearbook faculty advisor, Ms. Valerie Quinones, and editor-in-chief, senior Jess Noonan!

Congratulations to Voorhees senior Brenton Partridge who received the Mort Pye Scholarship from the Star-Ledger!  This scholarship provides Brenton with full paid tuition for four years.  Brenton will be attending Princeton University in the fall.

 

Congratulations to North Hunterdon senior Timothy Naumovitz, who was chosen as the Star-Ledger Scholar for Hunterdon County!  This scholarship provides Timothy with $3,000 a year for four years.  Timothy will be attending Carnegie Mellon University in the fall.

On Thursday, May 15 at the New Jersey Association of Student Councils Spring Awards Ceremony at Six Flags Great Adventure, the North Hunterdon Student Council was honored with the $5,000 Charity Club Award.  This award recognized their efforts in raising $7,000 for the Valerie Fund for Pediatric Cancer.  Also this total was the 3rd highest amount raised in the state by a student council.

Achievements by our students attending Polytech:

  • The following students from our district were recognized with the Polytech Award of Excellence at Polytech's awards night in June:

    • North Hunterdon: Charles Gravel-Construction Technology, Emily Irons-Early Childhood Education II, Sarah Faulkner-Sports Medicine, Jeffrey Cela-Marketing, Daniel Mugavero-Culinary Arts, & Morgan Smith-Pre-Vet Science/large animals

    • Voorhees: Gregory Vafiadis-Electrical, Marissa Scull-Skin Care, Curtiss Cavitt-CIE, Marissa Cerwinski-Early Childhood Education I, & Jeffrey Praskac-Air Force Junior ROTC

  • Polytech students participated in the New Jersey's SkillsUSA Competition on May 3.  The following students won awards:

    • Both Tony Fusco, senior at North Hunterdon High School, and Charles Gravel, also a senior at North, won Gold in the Team Works-Construction competition.  Tony and Charles will go on to compete in the National Competition held at the end of June in Florida.  Congratulations to Tony and Charles, and good luck at Nationals!!

    • Congratulations to Matt Blew, a senior at North Hunterdon, who won Silver in the Auto Maintenance competition!

    • Congratulations to Mark Pawlikowski, a junior at North Hunterdon, who won Silver in the Graphics Communication competition!
