Peer Mediation is a club for 11th and 12th graders that is based on teacher nomination/recommendation. Students are nominated for consideration, and there is an interview and selection process each year that both the current students and the advisors facilitate. Once selected for Peer Mediation, students participate in training sessions. The goal of Peer Mediation is to provide students with a medium for conflict resolution that is facilitated by their peers. Ultimately, the peer mediation process aims to decrease the number of discipline referrals to administration while encouraging students to work out their differences in a positive environment
Meetings are held at least monthly for Peer Mediation members. Mediations are conducted throughout the school day all year.
Usually meetings take place in the Guidance Conference Room.
