Today is Thursday, December 7, 2017
Today is “National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day.” On this 75th anniversary we honor the more than 2,400 military service personnel who died on December 7, 1941, during the surprise attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii that launched America into the chaos of World War 2. Sixteen million of America’s sons and daughters served during World War II, and more than 400,000 paid the ultimate sacrifice in defense of life and liberty. Countless other patriots served on the home front, aiding the war effort by working in manufacturing plants, participating in rationing programs, or planting Victory gardens. In the face of great loss, America once again showed the resilience and strength that have always characterized our great country. Now please rise and honor the memory of these great Americans who helped to preserve the freedoms we still hold dear today with the pledge of allegiance.
Congratulations to both the boys and girls swim teams as they remained undefeated on the young season with victories over Rutgers Prep yesterday.
