Raritan Headwaters is excited to offer two ongoing volunteer opportunities over the summer for High School Students! We hope you will share these opportunities with your student body. As you may know, RHA is a nonprofit conservation organization protecting water in our rivers, our streams and homes. www.raritanheadwaters.org We are located off Pottersville Road in Bedminster.
Student Citizen Scientist: This is a newly developed program specifically for students who want to expand their knowledge of environmental science while contributing to our science department’s data collection. Students will be introduced to stream monitoring protocols, wetland ecology, pond seining, native plant and invasive plant identification and an introduction to GIS. Students’ findings will be recorded, and the data will be used by the science department to track trends in water quality on our preserve. Space is limited to 15 students.
Nature Day Camp Assistant: Our day campers love having extra help during the session to help with fishing, art projects, tie dying, going on hikes, washing hands, building forts and more. Nature Day Camp Assistant volunteers work alongside our educators helping the little ones enjoy the day. Sessions run through the summer and volunteers are asked to commit to one full week M-F 9am-2:30pm. This role requires an interview since volunteers will be working with children.
Flyers with additional information are below.
The first step for both opportunities is to fill out a volunteer application at https://www.raritanheadwaters.org/volunteer/volunteer-sign-form/
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you in advance for your support.
