Procedures for Home Instructors:
- The Director of Guidance will send out an email requesting home instructors.
- Teachers should respond to that email if interested.
- The Director of Guidance will contact appropriate instructors with the details of the instruction.
- Medical Issues
- Students who are absent for 10 consecutive or 15 cumulative days for a medical condition verified by a doctor’s note are eligible for home instruction:
- Classified or 504 Students: 10 hours per week (2 hours per school day)
- Non-Classified Students: 5 hours per week (1 hour per school day)
- Administrative Reasons
- Students who are suspended or not eligible to attend school for 5 or more days are eligible for 10 hours per week (5 hours per school day)
- Instructors will complete a weekly timesheet.
- The timesheet must be completed for either the first or second half of the month
- The instructor should note in the comment section of the timesheet if the hours are make-up hours and what subjects were covered on each visit.
- Instructors may complete hours outside of the assigned week, but the instructor cannot do more hours than what the students is eligible for. Any hours completed outside the assigned week must be noted on the timesheet.
- Instructors may complete hours on non-school days, but the student only accumulates hours for days when school is in session.
- Instructors will submit the timesheet to the guidance secretaries responsible for home instruction.

- The home instructor should contact all the teachers they will be working with to gather work and stay in contact with those teachers as the instruction is delivered.
- All work should be returned to the classroom teachers as it is completed.
- Instruction will conclude on the day listed on the Eligibility for Home Instruction Form or the day the student is able to return to school.
