Nick Skelton, whose personal best in the event is 6-7, paired with Peter Dehkes for a 12-4 total. That was eight inches higher than the next-closest team. Dehkes’ personal best is 6-4, which makes for some competitive practices.
North Hunterdon picked up two other gold medals, winning the javelin with James Balance (155-11) and Mitchell Paisker (149-9) and 4×1600 in 18:43 with Samuel Layding (4:39), Nick Seibert (4:50), Matthew Sergison (4:39) and David Folsom (4:32).
North Hunterdon’s girls won the 4×800 and the 4×1600 as Eve Glasergreen provided an impressive 5:09 leg.
