Congratulations to North Softball for defeating Voorhees 5-0 in the Coaches vs Cancer Pink Game on Saturday, April 7, 2018.
Maggie Swan earned the win from the pitching circle tossing four innings allowing no runs, five hits, and one walk while striking out four as North Hunterdon, No. 9 in the NJ.com Top 20, defeated Voorhees, 5-0, in Annandale.
Julia Apsel came on in relief and threw the final three innings for the Lions, allowing just one walk. She also struck out three batters.
From the plate, Jessica Nolan went 2-for-4 with a double and a single with two RBI to lead the way. Eliza Filus and Chloe Pocceschi added an RBI and two hits as well. Emily Radican scored two times and Kira Thomas (2-for-3 with a run scored), chipped in as well. Filus and Apsel also crossed home for North Hunterdon.
For Voorhees, Kaylee Colantano and Kelsey Hollenbach both hit doubles. North Hunterdon outhit Voorhees, 12-5.
