SUMMER CAMP ALERT
Every year our students are presented with opportunities to attend a variety of summer camps. Although some of these summer camps are sponsored by the North Hunterdon-Voorhees Regional High School District Board of Education, there are many that are not. It is important that you understand the difference before registering your child for any summer camp. Board sponsored camps are staffed by District employees, are conducted using District grounds and facilities, and are regulated and insured by the Board. In light of the Boards sponsorship, the Board retains the ability to impose standards of conduct and ensure adequate student supervision.
In contrast, certain outside camps are not affiliated with the North Hunterdon-Voorhees Regional High School District Board of Education. While District personnel may be privately employed by these camps during the summer months, they are then acting as employees of the camp and not as District Employees. The Board is not responsible for the cost or quality of these camps, nor is it responsible for the conduct of student attendees or staff. In the interest of safeguarding District students, the Board strongly cautions parents against enrolling their children in any outside camp or activity without first researching the extent and manner in which those organizations provide supervision and ensure student safety and well-being.
If you have any questions concerning this matter, please email Mr. John Deutsch, Athletic Director.
