Relay For Life the American Cancer Society’s celebration of survivorship and community.  It is a unique activity that brings our community together to participate in the fight against cancer. 

Because Relay For Life is a community event, anyone and everyone can participate.  Everyone at Relay shares a common purpose – their support of the American Cancer Society’s mission to eliminate cancer as a major health problem. 

Relay For Life will be held at North Hunterdon High School on Friday & Saturday, June 8-9, 2007 from 4:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.  Student teams are invited to return for breakfast, activities and Closing Ceremonies on Saturday, June 9, 2007 from 9 – 12 p.m. 

THIS IS NOT AN OVERNIGHT EVENT

Notes:

The event is June 8-9 and here are some important times:
Registration and set -up is at 4 pm
Opening Ceremony & Survivor Lap is at 8:00 PM Luminaria Ceremoy is at 9:00 PM

Important dates to Remember: All meetings are at the Hunterdon Medical Center

Team Captains meetings:

  • March 21, April 18 & May 16 (7:45p.m. - 9:00pm)

Bank Night - Mandatory meeting

  • May 30 (7:00p.m. - 9:00pm)
     

To get involved in Relay For Life, follow these steps:

1.     Complete the Team Captain Commitment Information located in the athletic office and complete and give to Mr. Deutsch - jdeutsch@nhvweb.net

2.     Pick up your Team Captain Packet in the Athletic office starting Tuesday, April 1, 2007.

3.     Come to Kick Off on Wednesday March 3 at Beaver Brook Country Club from 7-8:30 p.m. to find out more information.

4.     Gather a few friends, neighbors, teachers, relatives…anyone!  Ask them to fill out a Registration Form and return it to you with a $10 registration fee.

5.     Select a team name and team theme (costumes are encouraged), and start fundraising together.

6.     As the Team Captain, you will bring all Registration Forms and money collected to the next scheduled meeting. Team Captain information is to be returned at the next Steering Committee meeting which will be on Thursday, April 20th at 6:30 pm at North Hunterdon Regional High School in Cafeteria B.

 It is EXTREMELY important that everyone makes an effort to attend this meeting! A very special announcement will be made. You don't want to miss it!

7.     At Relay, the Team Captain turns in all additional Forms and money for the team.

8.     Keep one team member on the Relay track at all times, and enjoy the entertainment, contests, and activities at Relay For Life.
