The 58th Annual Hunterdon County College Fair is coming up on Tuesday, April 25 from 6:30-8:30 pm in the HCRHS Fieldhouse. Please make plans to attend this major event!

There will be special break-out sessions for parents — “Basics of Financial Aid” from 6:30-7:15 and “Supporting Your Child Through the College Process” from from 7:15-8:00 in the Little Theater.

Students who sat for the PSAT during October should be seeing an email from Collegeboard with information on accessing score reports online. Paper copies hopefully will be distributed once North Hunterdon receives them. Electronic scores were sent to the school and have been posted to Naviance so you can see the score if you log on to Naviance.
The list of local scholarships for 2017 is now available. These are scholarships given to students at North Hunterdon High School by local organizations (middle schools, doctors’ offices, library, etc.). The list of local scholarships, their applications, and instructions can all be found here on the College and Career Resource Center website. Please be sure to read all of the instructions and follow the directions. The majority of the applications are due to Jessica Gorton on February 24th; however, there are a few with different dates so pay attention to all deadlines. Please read through the entire list of scholarships and apply to all that your senior is eligible for.

Just a reminder for any student wishing to take the January SAT you will need to register by December 21st. After that date you will be charged a late fee and some schools run out of room. The test isn’t offered at North either.
Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC) will be hosting an Information Session for the Honors College & NJ STARS on Wednesday, December 14th at 6:00pm. Interested students & parents are encouraged to attend & learn more about these wonderful programs! Parents: Partnering with your Student for Success using Family Connection
What is Family Connection? Your student’s school partners with Naviance to provide a variety of tools for student success after high school through academic, career and college planning. These tools are located in Family Connection, a website for students and families to access online resources, communicate with school staff and work with your student on college and career readiness activities. Parent information was sent out earlier this year via email on how to set up/login their parent account that is linked to the account of their student. North Hunterdon will use the email address for each parent that is available in Aspen. Parents should Email the students counselor if they didn’t receive an.
What can your student do in Family Connection?
Students can research colleges, scholarships, careers, enrichment programs and courses in one location. They can also create individual plans that can be linked to college and career readiness and communicate easily with teachers and counselors.
North Hunterdon Specific Information: We encourage you to access the Naviance website on the home page of guidance website under guidance quick links. In Naviance you will find activities for several assessments, testing info, and suggested Naviance activities. Additional features like Scattergrams and Maps are available from past North Hunterdon graduates and is useful in basing college acceptance/denial/waitlisting/deferring etc. based on the students information and the past North Hunterdon students. (GPA, standardized tests). We will continue to add information, scholarship bulletins, links and documents to our home page.
Remember students that you can enter hours into x2VOL North’s community service entry system for each year starting June 1st and finishing May 31st.
