On February 17th, the New Jersey Department of Education announced that 12 districts in the state have been awarded grants for demonstrating both high growth and proficiency with their special education student population during the 2010-2011 school year.  The North Hunterdon-Voorhees Regional High School District was one of the districts selected and will receive $100,000. On January 24, 2012, the North Hunterdon-Voorhees Board of Education approved a resolution to move its School Elections to coincide with the general election in November, which is now an option through a new law (P.L.2011, c.202).  This action will be in effect for four years.  The following provides information on the new law: (more…)

Rachel’s Challenge will be presented to all students and staff members at Voorhees High School on November 29 and at North Hunterdon on December 1.  Rachel’s Challenge was created in memory of Rachel Scott, the first person killed in the Columbine High School shootings on April 20, 1999.  Rachel’s acts of kindness and compassion coupled with the contents of her six diaries have become the foundation for this life-changing school program.  She wrote in her diary, “I have this theory that if one person can go out of their way to show compassion then it will start a chain reaction of the same.”  (more…)



Baseball field renovation

Thanks to donations of time, money and materials from local businesses and parents involved with the booster clubs, the varsity baseball and softball fields at North Hunterdon High School will be brand new for the spring season.

Parents involved with the Baseball and Softball Booster Clubs at North Hunterdon High School knew the fields were in dire need of renovation, from re-grading of the field to new backstops and new batting cages.  In fact, a strong downpour could make the baseball field unplayable for the rest of the day.  Parents approached coaches and the athletic department to learn the process of how they could help make the renovation a reality.  (more…)



Two seniors from North Hunterdon and Voorhees High Schools were named as Semi-Finalists and 26 seniors were named as Commended Students in the 2012 National Merit Scholarship Competition.

The North Hunterdon-Voorhees Special Education 8th Grade Parent Orientation meeting will not be held on Thursday, November 3 at Voorhees as originally scheduled.

The Parent Orientation will now be held on Tuesday, November 8 at 6:30PM in the cafeteria at North Hunterdon High School.
