The New Jersey Department of Education has determined that the North Hunterdon-Voorhees Regional High School District “meets requirements” with regards to implementation of special education requirements. This determination has been made to comply with the requirement under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, which says a state must issue a determination annually to each local school district. The determination is based on the following criteria:
- The district does not have outstanding noncompliance that has remained uncorrected for more than one calendar year.
- The district was not identified for significant disproportionality with regard to the representation of specific racial/ethnic groups in special education for the 2009-2010 school year.
- The district was not selected for monitoring based on a high rate of students with disabilties in separate public or private education settings.
- And the district was not identified for untimely or inaccurate submission of student data regarding students with disabilities.
Public reports by the Department of Education for each local district and charter school can be found on the department’s website at: http://www.state.nj.us/education/specialed/sppi0910/.
