North Hunterdon Local Scholarships

How to Apply for Local Scholarships

  1. Read through the North Hunterdon Local Scholarship List, paying particular attention to the following sections:
  • Description of the Scholarship- Review each scholarship’s description to see which ones you are eligible for.
  • Additional Requirements- You must include all requested additional requirements (transcript, essay, letter of recommendation, etc.) for the application to be complete.
  • Type of Criteria- You must complete all financial information for any scholarship that lists “need” as one of the criteria.  For non-need-based scholarships, it is recommended that you still complete this information, but it is not required.
  • Application form to be Used- for applications that say NHHS Local Scholarship Application you should use the 2017 North Hunterdon Local Scholarship Application.
  • Application form to be Used- for applications that use a “private application” please use their specific application.  The list of private applications can be found at the bottom of this page.
  1. Several scholarships list a Due Date. These scholarships must be returned to the sponsoring organization by the due date.  All other applications must be turned in to Ms. Gorton by February 24th, 2017.
  1. Any scholarship that is turned in to Ms. Gorton must be paper-clipped (no staples) and have a completed 2017 Local Scholarship Checklist as the first page of the application.
  1. Please schedule a meeting with Ms. Gorton before February 24th if you have any questions about an application or would like her to look over your completed applications before you submit them. The earlier you schedule a meeting the better since there will be many other students doing the same thing and time slots will quickly fill up.
  1. Ms. Gorton is at North every Tuesday, Thursday, and alternating Fridays. If she is not in her office when you come to turn your applications in, you can leave them in the box on her door.

  2. 2017 Local Scholarship Checklist This checklist must be the cover for each application that is turned in to Ms. Gorton
  3. 2017 Local Scholarship Application This application should be used for all scholarships that use the NHHS Local Scholarship Application (be sure to include any additional materials with this application)
