The NJ STARS program makes it possible for New Jersey’s brightest high school graduates to receive full tuition scholarships to attend their local community college. The scholarship covers tuition for up to five semesters.
To qualify for NJ STARS, you must:
- Graduate in the top 15 percent of your high school graduating class
- Show college-level readiness in both Math and English
- Complete any remedial courses within one year of graduating from high school
- Enroll full-time in an associate degree program at your home community college
- Take a minimum of 12 college-level credits per semester
- Maintain a 3.0 or higher grade point average
- Complete an associate degree within five semesters; not including summers
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and submit any financial aid documentation requested to complete or verify application data within the NJ state deadlines
