MEDLIFE- International volunteering opportunities for students

MEDLIFE welcomes volunteers from all academic and professional backgrounds.  They currently offer one week Mobile Clinic trips in Peru, Ecuador, Tanzania, Nicaragua, and India.  For information on their mobile clinic locations, please visit the following link:           http://www.medlifeweb.org/where-we-work.html

During the Mobile Clinic week, volunteers spend time shadowing doctors, dentists, OB-GYNs and nurses.  The volunteers are split up into multiple stations during the week, including: General Medicine, Triage, Education, OB-GYN (females only), Toothbrushing, and Dentistry.  Volunteers rotate through two different stations every day, giving them a chance to shadow local medical professionals and to learn about various aspects of primary care.  All volunteers have the opportunity to go on a Reality Tour of the communities you serve during the clinic week.

As another component of the Mobile Clinic trips, volunteers participate in a development project, helping communities improve their everyday environments.  Examples of these include staircase-building projects and hygiene projects, which greatly improve the quality of life of the communities we partner with.
