GRADING CRITERIA

Grades are determined by the use of an accumulative point system.  A test   may equal 100-150 points, a quiz may be 40 points, a long term project may be 300 points, homework may be 20-40 points, current events may be 30 -40 points, in-class work may be 50 points, a notebook check  may be 75 points.   Points are eventually converted to a letter grade.

In addition, at the end of each marking period, each student is assigned a class participation grade of 100 points, equal to a test grade.

This grade evaluates each student’s participation in the class:  asks and answers questions; fully participates as a member in team projects; volunteers for leadership jobs; behaves in an appropriate and courteous manner; completes in-class assignments in a punctual and thorough manner.
