CLASSROOM POLICIES & EXPECTATIONS

 

  1. You shall be respectful and courteous to each other, to the faculty, to the staff, and to guest speakers.

 

  1. You should be seated, quiet and ready to work when the bell rings.  If not, you will be considered tardy

 

  1. ABSENCES.

 

If  you are present when a homework assignment is given, but absent on the day that the assignment is due, the assignment is due on the day that you return There is NO CREDIT FOR HOMEWORK TURNED IN AFTER THAT DATE.   This is a Social Studies Dept. policy.

 

If you are absent when a homework assignment is given, it is your responsibility to get the assignment immediately and make up the work. 

Make–up work is due the day after you receive the assignment.

There is NO CREDIT FOR HOMEWORK TURNED IN AFTER THAT DATE.

 All make-up work must have a proper heading (see number 6 below) and

also include THE DATE(S) YOU WERE ABSENT.

 

If you are absent on the date of a quiz or test you are expected to make –up the test or quiz within five school days after you return. 

Otherwise, a grade of  ZERO will be entered.

 

All missed tests or quizzes are made up at 2:30 pm on a Monday, Wednesday or Thursday, when the late buses run.  PLAN AHEAD.

  

  1. In accordance with School Board policy, cheating and plagiarism is prohibited.  In accordance  with my policy, you will receive a zero if you are found guilty of either offense.

   

  1. You are not permitted to eat or  drink anything  in the classroom.   You are not permitted

chew gum offensively in the classroom. 

 

      6.  All homework and in-class assignments are to have a proper heading: name, mod, date, and

             the name of the the assignment, e.g.  Chap. 12.  Quests. 3, 6 and 10b 

 

      7.   All work must be typed unless I indicate otherwise.  Hand written assignments are to be in blue or black ink only.

 

       8.  LATE  HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS.   You will receive ½ credit for work turned in 1 day late;  assignments turned in after that date are not

            acceptedThis is a Social Studies Dept. policy.         

 

       9.  If you have any questions about anything at allplease come to see me.  I am in the  Social Studies Office. Rm.  320, every day,

           with rare exceptions, from 2:30 until 3:10 pm.
