The Little Stone House is an ongoing teacher/student/community
project to clean up, rebuild and renovate a very old stone house that
rests on Voorhees High School property. The catalyst for this endeavor is
Mr. Heilman, a biology teacher at VHS who recognized the community
building possibilities in the run-down dwelling east of Degnan field.
Momentum builds for the project as a grant for defraying some of the
renovation costs has been approved. Students, parents, and teachers have
worked together contributing muscle and expertise to this beautification
effort. The community and school response to this project has been
positive.
