A message to all parents:

The Science requirement at Voorhees High School requires that all students successfully complete a three-year sequence in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.  Due to the diverse talents and abilities of our student body each course is offered at the Core, College Prep, Honors College Prep and Advanced Placement Level.  Core and College Prep courses are five credits and meet forty minutes per day.  Honors courses are seven and a half credits, weighted and meet sixty minutes a day.

The Science Department also offers elective courses in Earth Science, Astronomy, Human Anatomy and Physiology, and Environmental Science.  Earth Science and Astronomy are one-semester courses, are two and a half credits, and meet 40 minutes a day.  Environmental Science and Human Anatomy and Physiology are five credits each and meet forty minutes per day.

Advanced Placement courses are offered in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science and Physics.  Biology, Chemistry and Physics are ten credit courses and meet eighty minutes a day.  Environmental Science is a five-credit course and meets forty minutes a day.  The AP examination is not required and must be paid for by the student.  The members of the Science Department strongly recommend that all students taking an AP course take the AP examination.

For a complete description of each science course, please review the district curriculum guide.
