Seniors…Your moment is almost here! You are about to leave this place. “Thank God!” is probably what you are thinking. But, though you are ready to move on, I’m sure that even the most negative one of you couldn’t have had an experience that was all bad. In fact, I’m sure that there is at least one adult in this school who has done a great deal for you in one way or another. …So maybe you should take the time to thank that person. Today, you get a free 5/5 quiz grade for writing a hand-written thank-you note to a teacher, administrator, or support staff member at VHS. Things to consider putting in the note: · Be sincere and specific in regard to what you are thanking your recipient for. o If it was one situation, thoroughly recap the situation o If it was over a long period of time, try to pick out a few key moments · Let him/her know how they impacted you particularly. · Share with him/her what it was that made you pay attention to him/her · You can let him/her know how you are doing currently (especially if it’s because of their help). · You could tell him/her what your plans are in the future as well. · You can wish him/her well.
I’m thinking at least ¾ of a page hand-written. IT WILL BE SENT TO THE TEACHER! So, no funny stuff! I am not reading these…because they are personal. However, I will be doing a mass email to those receiving these notes telling them to let me know if the message was inappropriate…in which case you will pay dearly. You have twenty minutes…take your time and write a good solid THANK YOU! When you are done, fold it in half (hamburger style) and write on the front: TO: (Name of Recipient) FROM: (Your Name) …And that’s it! Wednesday-Friday
