Bi-Weekly Objectives ~ 5/7-5/18
The Patriot Unit
will take up these two weeks.
The three revolutionary documents that will be examined
are: Patrick Henry’s Speech to the Virginia Convention, The
Declaration of Independence, and The Crisis.
The examination of these pieces will be looked, not only
in terms of the historical perspective, but also in terms of
their different formats.
·
Patrick Henry’s speech to the
Virginia Convention – Persuasive Speech
·
The Declaration of Independence –
a Formal Declaration
·
The Crisis – a Motivational
Speech
The structure of
each of these pieces will be examined and the students will have
to write a mock of each one.
Each rough draft must be one page double spaced and
regard a different subject.
These will be process portfolio pieces.
Upon completion of the third and final rough draft, the
students will team up with a peer.
They will exchange rough drafts and consult one another

final draft. The
final draft will be due on Friday the 13th.
