Welcome to the Voorhees Wrestling Team's website, home of the Voorhees HS and Junior Wrestling teams in Glen Gardner, NJ.  We hope that it serves as a useful source of information for those who are interested and involved in our program. The goal of our program is to provide student-athletes in the Voorhees district with as many opportunities as possible through the sport of wrestling.

Hunterdon hills wrestling club news!!!

Exciting news!!  the Hunterdon hills wrestling club is in the process of opening a new wrestling facility! Custom Alloy is renovating a space on their Taylor Wharton property in high bridge, nj, which will be exclusive to the Hunterdon hills wrestling club.  The walls and ceilings have recently been insulated, new windows and floors are being installed, lighting has been installed, a new roof will be put on the building and the interior will be reconfigured by engineers to better allow for placement of wrestling mats. This space is nearly 2500 square feet and will be a great facility for the club to use (year round) when completed.  we can not say enough about the generosity of Custom Alloy.  we will post pictures at a later date and then again as the renovation progresses.  the goal is to open in the  fall of this year (labor day 2011).  stay tuned........

“Pinning 4 a Purpose 2011-2012”
“Pinning 4 a Purpose” was an opportunity for the Voorhees Wrestling Team to give back to a charitable organization in the local community.  This year the Voorhees Wrestling Team used their strength, determination, and talent of “pinning their opponents” to benefit the Special Olympics of Hunterdon County. 
This season the Voorhees Wrestling Team had 270 pins and raised a total of $4600.00 for the Special Olympics of Hunterdon County.  Great Job Boys!

VIRIDIAN ENERGY Fundraising Opportunity
"power with a purpose"

#1 We need min. of (25) families to convert. By making the switch they will save approximately 10-20 % per month on their "supply" cost for electricity!!!  The 1st month they will also receive an additional 10%. The booster club will receive $10 for each person we enroll and additional $250.00 when we get to (25) families. We will also receive $2.00 per month per family for the duration that they stay with Viridian.  Remember we can signup both families (Direct and indirect) and businesses. So ask everyone. Businesses with high usages will generate higher monthly return for the club.

#2 Here is how to sign up:  go to www.viridian.com/vhvwrestling  (all lower case)  Once on the website they should go to "Become a customer".  Then follow the instruction. They will automatically be listed under the booster club. They should have their electric bill handy when doing the enrollment. They will need information from the bill. once it is done they will see the change in 4-6 weeks on their electric bills.  They should also remember for the customer there is no physical change in their service, only saving money for them and making money for the Voorhees Viking Booster Club. They will still get there same bill from the utility and the same service should anything happen to the power.

In these tough economic time this is a simple way to save money and help our kids. Every dollar that is raised goes directly back to our kids to help them be the best wrestlers they can be.
