Examine the contents of the storytime theme kits at the Somerset County Library:

  1. Enter "theme kit" in the search box

  2. From the County Library Branches drop-down menu, select Bridgewater Library

  3. When you find a theme that interests you, click on it and examine the Notes area for ideas for books

Properly cite your sources by following these formats/examples for books, images, and web sites. If any category of information is not available for your citation, skip it and move on to the next category. If a publication date is not available, type n.d. (which stands for no date) where the date would go. Be sure to follow the spacing and alignment of the examples, too (double spaced, hanging indent of 5 spaces).

 

Book (find the info on the front and back of the title page)

Author'sLastName, Author'sFirstName MiddleInitial. Title of Book. City of Publication:
     Name of Publisher, year of publication. Print.
 

Example:

Steinbeck, John. The Grapes of Wrath. New York: Viking, 1939. Print.

Image (look for the title of the image by mousing over it or right-clicking on it)

"Title or Description of Image." Name of Whole Web Site. Date site was published or
     copyrighted. Web. Date you viewed the web site. <URL>.
 

Example:

"Photo of Franklin D. Roosevelt." The White House. N.d. Web. 4 Feb. 2010.
      <http://www.whitehouse.gov/about/presidents/franklindroosevelt>.

Web site

"Title of Web Page." Name of Whole Web Site. Date site was published or copyrighted.
     Web. Date you viewed the web site. <URL>.
 

Example:

"North Athletics." North Hunterdon High School. 2008. Web. 4 Feb. 2010.
