You must use at least one book source for your project. Books about poets, poetry, and historical decades are available in the Media Center. Search the online catalog or see the list (click on Categories and Poets, Poetry, or Decades).

Electronic databases

Electronic databases are available in the Favorites menu in Internet Explorer on the Media Center computers, or in the Electronic Databases section of the NHHS Media Center home page. To use the databases from home, you will need the list of passwords, which is available in the Media Center.

Publisher of Poetry magazine, Poetry Foundation is an independent literary organization committed to a vigorous presence for poetry in our culture. Click the "By Poet" drop-down menu under "Poetry Tool" in the middle of the page to look for your poet.

 

Academy of American Poets

Search for specific poets and poems at the site from the largest U.S. organization dedicated to the art of poetry. You can even hear some poets read their work. Type your poet's name in the Poet search box at the top-left of the page.

 

Plagiarist Poetry Archive

Database of more than 400 poets and 9,000 poems. Click the Poetry/Poets tab at the top of the page and look for your poet's name in the alphabetical list.

Use the following format to cite your poem (choose the Web Site option in NoodleTools):

Poet's Last Name, Poet's First Name. "Title of Poem." Name of Web
