Merriam-Webster Online: The Language Center
This site provides access to both the Collegiate Dictionary and Roget's Thesaurus. In addition to being able to search both reference works, visitors to the site may learn about the Word of the Day or play one of four word games: Definition Demolition, Flip Flop, Transform Brainstore, and Match Maker.

Roget's Internet Thesaurus

Web site that will prove invaluable to anyone looking for another word to replace one that's been overused. To use the thesaurus, simply fill in the word for which you are seeking a synonym and click "Now." The server returns with a list of all the entries in which that word appears. You can then browse through the entries to find an appropriate synonym.

Bucknell University hosts this resource, which provides links to more than 400 dictionaries of more than 130 languages and dialects. The languages range from English to the African languages of Wolof, Yemba, and Xhosa to Native American languages including Cherokee, Cheyenne, Lakhota, Mohawk, and Navajo. There are even dictionaries for Pennsylvania Dutch, which is a New World linguistic descendant of German, and for such artificial languages as Esperanto, Klingon, Romulan, and Vulcan.
